Arifureta: From Commonplace to World's Strongest (Manga)

I’ve always had a deep affection for stories that dive into the heart of the human soul, where pain, fear, and hope intertwine to give rise to something profoundly authentic.
Arifureta fits perfectly within this sensibility.
Beyond its fantastical world and epic battles, it is above all a story that explores inner transformation, that creative force that blooms when everything seems lost.

Arifureta follows the story of Hajime Nagumo, an ordinary high school student lacking self-confidence, often bullied and looked down upon by his classmates.
One day, he and his entire class are mysteriously transported to a fantasy world where each of them receives special powers to become heroes tasked with saving a kingdom threatened by monsters and an impending war.
While his classmates obtain impressive abilities, Hajime acquires a minor skill as a “transmutation artisan”, considered useless for combat.

During an expedition in a dangerous labyrinth, Hajime is betrayed and falls into the depths of an abyss filled with deadly creatures.
Facing despair, he survives by gradually transforming himself, developing his own strength by consuming monsters and reinventing his techniques thanks to his underestimated talent.
This experience changes him radically: from a kind and timid teenager, he becomes a determined and pragmatic fighter, ready to do whatever it takes to survive and return home.

In the labyrinth, he meets Yue, a mysterious imprisoned vampire endowed with immense power. She becomes his first ally and a vital support in his quest.
Together, they venture into the world, confront new enemies, and encounter other companions such as Shea and Tio, each bringing a unique dynamic to their group.

The manga blends intense action, character development, humor, and strong relationships, while exploring the transformation of an ordinary boy into a feared legend.
The story highlights survival, resilience, and the pursuit of freedom in a harsh and unforgiving world.
